I have always been fascinated with conceptual/fine art/surreal photography. The fact that someone can take something so ordinary and turn it into something so beautiful and complex moves me. But, most of the things that I have looked at and read say you need the full version of photoshop to achieve these looks, I only have lightroom and photoshop elements 10, so I thought it was a bit out of my software's ability.
Creative Live had a week of free online tutorials, and yes, they all used the full photoshop, but I spent hours and hours watching. Then I came across Brooke Shaden. Her broadcast captivated me. So I googled her and came across her blog. I can say, I spent hours reading it. The amount of talent this woman has is amazing! She also is a truly gifted writer. But after reading her blog, I decided to not let my limitations stop me, and I played and played around with what I have. Am I copying her? No, my imagination is not hers, But she has inspired me to do new things, to think outside of the box when it comes to my photography. And for that I am thankful.
Now my brain has so many ideas......I know Faith is pretty tired of me testing my ideas out using her, so now I just need to find a few models.....
